One of my approval customers took 3 months to return his selection, after several reminder notices from me to him to pay for or return the shipment. I figured I would never see these approvals again.
One day, the return comes in the mail. He bought two items for a few dollars and returned the rest. He added a note, “No more approvals after this transaction please.”
Luckily, the stamps were not damaged. But the small sale cards I used were stained brown, like coffee had been spilt and the cards soaked up some of the coffee. Several other cards had tears in them, almost as if he was tearing the envelope in half to get to the contents inside, but the thickness of the sales cards stopped him from going any further. Luckily, the stamps survived, but I had to transfer them to new sales cards to make them look presentable to the next customer.
He paid by credit card. You guessed it, his card was declined. There goes another letter off to him asking for another form of payment since his credit card number will not work.
It took forever to settle this invoice, the material was returned damaged, and the credit card provided did not work.
I had no problem honoring his request to make this the first and last transaction.
